Q: What is paintless dent repair (PDR)?
A: PDR start in European auto factories decades ago before coming over to the U.S. and eventually to Canada. This technique has grown more and more popular in recent years among body shops, auction houses and rental car companies. New and used dealerships and retail customers use PDR to save money, protect the original paint and get a quick turnaround. All this is done while using an environmentally safe process. No chemicals, paints or fillers are used. At DentStar we have specially designed metal rods and hand tools for PDR use only.
With an artistic eye and patient approach, our PDR technician uses a light board to see through the steel and align the tip of the steel rod behind the dent. Using a massaging method and working with the memory in the steel panel, DentStar removes the dent and achieves the original form.
Q: What type and size of dents can DentStar repair?
A: DentStar can repair small 2mm sharp dents to those that are almost the length of a car door. We handle all shapes and sizes, including:
